The Philadelphia Eagles shocked the football world on Tuesday after firing Chip Kelly just a few days following the team's embarrassing home loss to the Washington Redskins--a game the team needed to win to remain in the playoff hunt.
While Kelly's name will be linked to numerous teams over the next couple of weeks, here's five reasons why the head coach will most likely join the Tennessee Titans and reunite with Marcus Mariota.

Kelly made it clear he wanted to win with "his guys" as head coach of the Eagles and during his final season at Oregon, Mariota was "his guy." It was no secret just how bad Kelly wanted Mariota to end up in Philadelphia and a reunion in Tennessee would finally give the head coach the quarterback he's wanted all along.

They say you learn from your mistakes and shortly after he was fired by the Eagles, Chip made it clear that he just wants to be the head coach during his next gig. By avoiding all the personnel stuff, Kelly can just focus on the duties of a head coach and return to the dominant level we were so used to seeing at Oregon.
3. Mariota Is a Perfect Fit For Kelly's Offense

Other than Michael Vick at the beginning of his tenure, one of the biggest problems with Kelly's offense was he never had a running quarterback for his system. Everyone knew Kelly's offense needed a running quarterback to be most successful and neither Nick Foles, Mark Sanchez, or Sam Bradford was the answer for the Eagles.
You know who is a running quarterback that would be a perfect fit for Chip's offense? Mariota, of course.
2. Kelly Missed Out On College Openings

If Philadelphia fired Kelly earlier in the season, there's a good chance he would have strongly considered a return to the college level when considering all of the available openings. Unfortunately for Chip, all of the opportunities at big-name schools have already been filled--meaning Kelly would most likely have to wait a whole year for another opening.

When the Titans fired Ken Whisenhunt earlier in the season, rumors started to swirl about the possibility of Philadelphia trading their head coach (yes--it's happened before) in the offseason. Now that Kelly is available as a free agent and could reunite with Mariota in Tennessee without the team having to surrender any draft picks, why wouldn't the Titans strongly consider the move?
