Soccer Star Mbappe Reportedly Set To Receive $108 Million for Real Madrid Transfer

Kylian Mbappe, the French soccer star is set to get a signing-on reward from his new club Real Madrid in five years’ time amounting to at least £85million ($108.4 million).

According to a concise explanation by Real Madrid on Monday, it was agreed that Mbappe would join the squad for the next five seasons and there are no financial details mentioned.

The 25-year-old World Cup winner is expected to officially become a Los Blancos player when he moves from Paris Saint-Germain FC without any fee following the lapse of his contract in June.

There were disagreements among media sources regarding how much money changed hands as part of this deal.

Sky Sports stated that earlier on Monday, Real planned giving Mbappe a sign-up payment of over £85m which they would spread over his 5-year tenure through periodic installments.

In another twist, BBC indicated that Mbappe would be given €150m ($162.9m) sign-on bonus in equal instalments spread over five years at €15m ($16.29m) per year with some portion of image rights being retained by the player himself.

Confirmation that Mbappe would be playing for Real Madrid followed soon after the Spanish team won their 15th Champions League title.

Mbappe netted 44 times for Paris Saint-Germain last season thus helping them clinch their 12th Ligue 1 trophy. This striker has topped the French league’s scoring list over the past six seasons.
