Gorgui Dieng: Louisville Forward Tosses up “Soccer-Like” Alley-Oop
Bob Donnan-US PRESSWIRE

Last weekend at Adidas Nations, Louisville guard Peyton Siva threw down this 360-between the legs dunk.

Now there is video of Siva’s teammate Gorgui Dieng, showcasing a little trickery of his own.

Dieng, a 6-foot-11 native of Senegal, takes a dead ball on the floor and flips it up for an alley-oop, using only his feet. The soccer-like pass was to perfection prior to being caught and flushed by Murray State forward Ed Daniel.

While Dieng and Siva’s highlight play moments at last weekend’s Adidas Nations are fun to watch, Cardinals’ head coach Rick Pitino isn’t likely to add them to this year’s playbook.

Instead, Dieng and Siva are once again, two crucial pieces for a Louisville squad that will be expected to threaten for a national championship in 2012-13.

Dieng, now a junior, had a very-much improved sophomore season in 2011-12, averaging 9.1 points and 9.1 rebounds. The Cardinals’ big man also notched 11 double-doubles.

No, Dieng won’t be running the point and passing with his feet this season, but the video is still fun to watch.

How many 6-11 people do you know who can make a pinpoint alley-oop in this fashion? My guess is not many.

Here’s the video:
