Rumors will be rumors and for 6-foot-4 guard Torian Graham, they are swirling.

A one-time North Carolina State commit, Graham is a member of the class of 2012, and as of late last week it appears that he is now academically qualified to head to school this fall.

The only problem: Graham has not committed anywhere yet, so if he is indeed qualified, one program may be getting a big-time addition as August continues.

Justin Byerly, who covers recruiting for a number of outlets, tweeted out what he heard last Friday, and in the tweet one school is mentioned: Kentucky.

Graham is a native of Durham, North Carolina and during his time at Christian Faith Center Academy, he was highly-regarded as one of the top prospects in the country. Rivals labeled Graham at No. 67 in their final class rankings, while ESPN listed the guard at No. 91.

Late commitments are rare, but top talent is no rarity to boosting a college program just prior to the start of the fall semester. In fact, UConn landed big man Andre Drummond on Aug. 28 of last year. Drummond went on to the be school’s first one-and-done in their program’s history and a top-10 NBA Draft selection.

As for Kentucky, well head coach John Calipari may very well be in search of another addition for the 2012-13 season. The Wildcats missed out on a few recruits late in the spring period, a rarity for fans in Lexington, but the wheel doesn’t stop turning there.

Central Florida forward Keith Clanton is becoming a hot name for the Wildcats, as a decision to pursue a transfer could play its way into the cards for the Golden Knight’s leading scorer (14.5 ppg) last year.

As for Graham, there is not much push behind the rumors yet, only pure speculation. N.C. State could still be in the mix, while a darkhorse like Xavier could also be a potential landing spot.

Not much is known, but considering Graham has ultimately qualified, things could certainly heat up in the coming weeks.
