Tyler Roberson: 2013 Forward Down to Ten Finalists

When a recruit narrows their list, ten finalists may still seem like a lot.

Yet, when you’re one of the top targets in your class, your options may be extensive. For 2013 forward Tyler Roberson, that’s just the case.

Roberson has indeed trimmed his list of potential suitors down to ten, describing who made the cut in a blog contribution for SNY’s Adam Zagoria.

At 6-foot-8, Roberson is highly regarded as one of the top forwards in the nation. Just a few days ago, Roberson listed the following ten schools: SMU, Kentucky, Rutgers, Syracuse, Seton Hall, Kansas, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, and Villanova.

Including SMU, who will be making their move to the Big East in 2013, all of Roberson’s finalists are of the high-major variety, as expected. ESPN ranks the forward at No. 41 among the class of 2013 prospects, while Rivals labels Roberson at No. 53.

Kentucky is the latest newcomer in Roberson’s recruitment, and outside the Wildcats, each of his other nine finalists have been in pursuit for much of his recruitment process.

A native of Roselle, New Jersey, Roberson currently attends Roselle Catholic (NJ), while running with the N.J. Roadrunners on the AAU circuit.

Roberson’s list of ten is not expected to last very long, however. Official visits to Kansas, SMU, and Syracuse are on the docket, while his other two NCAA-given trips remain undecided. The forward could trim things down to five next month.

Kentucky is the only one of his ten finalists who have not offered a scholarship to the New Jersey-native, although it’s likely that is only because of they have recently expressed interest.
