Under Armour Elite 24: Dunk and Three-Point Contest Winners
Dunk Contest Champion: Julius Randle

Day one of the activities in Venice Beach, California wrapped up on Friday with two top recruits coming away with some special awards. Kansas Jayhawk-commit Conner Frankamp lit it up from behind the three point arc and won the contest. Julius Randle, who is one of the top recruits that has yet to decide, was the winner of the Slam Dunk Contest at the Under Armour Elite 24.

Frankamp is not a big boy, but will have one of the best shots in all of college basketball. He came into the contest as the favorite to win, and walked away with a win. He scored 17 in the semifinals where he took on Rashad Vaughn of Minneapolis. Frankamp then scored 19 to win the title.

Randle, who won,  the dunk contest took on a sophomore – Jamar Ergas. Ergas is from Canada and quickly emerging as a top recruit for the 2015 class. Randle is from Plano Texas, and has been one of the top three players in the class for quite some time. Ergas started the contest missing a few dunks, then finally slamming one down via a pass from Tyler Ennis. Randle then took his turn. Most folks remember Randle was in the contest last season. He scored a perfect 50 on his dunk, which saw him take the ball behind his back and throw it down left-handed.

Randle’s recruitment has been a big story as of late. He has big time interest from programs such as Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, Baylor and Texas, along with many others.  Most recently, Randle visited Oklahoma State. After the competition, he did not discuss his college future.

The event will continue throughout the weekend. This features the top recruits in the country. The event’s all-star game will be Saturday night and is televised on ESPNU.
