Could Ravens RB Willis McGahee be traded soon?

Rumors are beginning to heat up about a possible trade involving Baltimore Ravens running back Willis McGahee. He didn’t see any action during the team’s 24-10 win over the New York Giants on Saturday night—which is usually the game where most of the favorites for the 53-man roster tend to play.
A report by The Baltimore Sun published two weeks ago indicated multiple teams had contacted the Ravens about a possible trade for McGahee. If this happens to be the case, a possible trade would make sense considering Ray Rice enters 2010 as the starting running back and Le’Ron McClain could be used as his backup.
Numerous reports have suggested the Ravens may be interested in trading McGahee to acquire another defensive back considering all of the setbacks from injured players. Here’s what ESPN’s Tim Kavanagh had to say about the matter:
“It’s been stated repeatedly that the Ravens could be in the market for a defensive back. They’re without Fabian Washington for the season (and the two prohibitive favorites to start are both coming off ACL tears), and Ed Reed’s health is also in question.”
McGahee was acquired from the Buffalo Bills prior to the 2007 NFL Draft in exchange for three draft picks. He’s entering the fourth season of his seven-year contract with the Ravens—which he signed after the trade. McGahee is coming off a 2009 season in which he started just one game, but still managed to rush for 544 yards and 12 touchdowns.
