Ravens had issues with length of practices during playoff week against Steelers
Sunday’s Super Bowl XLVI matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers may be difficult to watch for the Baltimore Ravens and their fans–simply because of how close they were to advancing to the AFC Championship. Now, a recent report by Mike Preston of the Baltimore Sun makes it seem like the Ravens put themselves at a disadvantage with the amount of time spent practicing leading up to the Divisional round game against the Steelers.
Preston indicated on Saturday that a few members of the Ravens were upset with head coach John Harbaugh over the length of practices in the week leading up to the playoff game against the Steelers three weeks ago. In fact, Preston claims that some players were so upset with Harbaugh–they even considered going to the players’ union.
If this happens to be true, it’s hard not to think how much this affected Baltimore against Pittsburgh. The Ravens looked impressive in the first half and established a 14-point lead, but fell apart in the second half. While the report didn’t mention any names of the players, it should be interesting to see how Harbaugh responds to these accusations over the next few days–if he does at all.
