Ravens Safety Tom Zbikowski Wins Another Boxing Match; Improves to 3-0 in Career
On Saturday, Baltimore Ravens safety Tom Zbikowski improved his boxing record to 3-0 after defeating Caleb Grummet by unanimous decision in Atlantic City, according to Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun.
Two weeks ago, Zbikowski participated in his first fight since 2006 after defeating Richard Bryant in Las Vegas. The former Notre Dame standout has another fight scheduled in Dallas set for April 23 and could even schedule more fights depending on how negotiations go between players and owners over the next month or so.
With the current NFL lockout, players have the right to pursue other sports without getting into trouble with the team they play for–which is why Zbikowski has taken on boxing this offseason. In fact, with the status of the 2011 season up in the air, there’s a good chance Zbikowski could return to the ring full-time.
