Reds pitcher Mike Leake arrested for shoplifting
According to several reports emerging this afternoon, Cincinatti Reds phenom pitcher Mike Leake, has been arrested and booked on suspicion of theft after stealing $59.88 worth of merchandise from an area Macy’s.
Why in the world would a professional athlete making $425,000 a year need to steal merchandise from a Macy’s?
Mismanagement of money?
Desperate need for that pair of jeans?
The thrill of it all?
Who knows, but it continues to be dumbfounding that young athletes are willing to throw away all they have worked for–and all that so many are jealous of– in a moment of stupidity.
Leake’s just another in a long line of idiots and there will be more to follow.
It’s sad really, but it’s just a matter of time before we hear about the next.
