Marlins balk at any trade talks
There were a few deals here and there but ultimately the fourth place Marlins in the NL East did not move anyone or take anyone off of any team with trade deadline season.
Florida was nowhere near close on any type of deal with any team. The closest they got to acquiring someone was when the Detroit Tigers designated infielder Brandon Inge for assignment. He was later passed up by the Fish.
There were also talks that the Marlins could possibly move Leo Nunez, Anibal Sanchez or Ricky Nolasco but Jeffery Loria and Larry Beinfest were asking for the moon and thensome to get those players.
As the waiver trade deadline comes, the Marlins may add a big player to help put fans in their new ballpark. We’ll see.
