The Big 12 has invited TCU to join their conference for the 2012-13 school year. TCU had been scheduled to join the Big East in July.

This certainly stirs things up a bit more in college athletics. We have already seen Nebraska jump to the Big 10 Conference. Utah joined the Pac 12 alongside Colorado this season. We witnessed Texas A & M accepting an invite to join to the toughest conference in collegiate football, the SEC. Just a few weeks ago, Syracuse and Pitt joined the ACC to create the most dynamic college basketball conference ever assembled. Now, the winner of the 2010-11 Rose Bowl over Wisconsin, TCU, is set to accept an invite to join the Big 12 Conference. The beginning of the end has started for the “small school” in college athletics. Regardless, the evolution of the power conferences is in full effect.
