Illinois @ Penn State
Illinois is trying to rebound from their first two losses of the season, the last of which coming against lowly Purdue. However, if the Illini show up, they have the team to beat Penn State, who has not conquered the toughest of competition yet. Illinois will need to shrug off last week’s loss and get their offense going, as the Nittany Lions have built their season on defense thus far.
Georgia @ Florida
Georgia has been playing some good ball as of late, winning five straight after losing their first two. However, we all know how tough it is to play on the road at The Swamp, and that test just got a little tougher for the Bulldogs. Florida expects starting quarterback John Brantley to play today. Brantley hasn’t played since going down in the Gator’s first loss of the season three weeks ago, and has a 4-0 record this year. This will be a pretty stiff test for UGA.
Wake Forest @ North Carolina
These two teams are very similar statistically. North Carolina is coming off of two straight losses, while Wake Forest was able to hang on and gut out a win last week. However, the Tar Heels are returning home for this one, and are a little more balanced on offense. The Demon Deacons will need to keep rolling on offense and find a way to make UNC one dimensional.
South Carolina @ Tennessee
Tennessee hasn’t been very good so far this year, but all of their losses have been against then or now ranked teams. They also have the benefit of playing at home against a South Carolina team that is now playing without its original starting quarterback and starting running back. Will the Gamecocks find a way to win again, or will Tennessee finally pull a big win out?
Wisconsin @ Ohio State
Ohio State hasn’t been the team of old this year, and really should get beat handily by Wisconsin. However, the Buckeyes are still playing at The Shoe, and welcome in a Badger team that suffered their first loss of the year on a Hail Mary last week. This game will almost certainly be decided on how big of a hangover Wisconsin has after seeing their national championship hopes disappear in dramatic fashion last week.
