College Football Upset Alert: Week Eleven
Nebraska @ Penn State
We all know about the Penn State scandal this week, and the subsequent dismissal of Joe Paterno. However, I think that this will be an advantage to the Nittany Lions this week against Nebraska, and will get them playing harder. Throw in Penn State being in first in the Leaders division and playing their last home game of the year, and this looks like an incredibly tough task for the Cornhuskers.
Florida @ South Carolina
South Carolina will again be without standout running back Marcus Lattimore, and will be playing with a quarterback that was banged up last week. Florida will get their quarterback and speedster Chris Rainey back for this game as well. USC has played rather well without Lattimore, but now we will get to see how they react in that situation after a loss as they look to try to get back to back wins against the Gators for the first time since the 1930’s. Florida will come in riding the momentum of their first win since September.
Michigan State @ Iowa
This is a very big game in the Big Ten, as these teams are one and two in the Legends division late in the season. Michigan State is the road favorite, but Iowa can put points on the board, and has won 7 straight at home against the Spartans. The key to this one will be if Iowa’s defense, which has been less than stellar against the pass, can slow do Michigan State’s passing attack. If the Hawkeyes can do that, the Spartans may face the same fate that Michigan did last week.
