More sources are confirming that Urban Meyer has accepted the Ohio State head coach position. This isn’t completely out of bounds as reports were surfacing over the last few week, and speculation intensified when it was leaked Urban Meyer asked for a weekend off of ESPN.
The deal is supposedly a 7 year contract worth in the neighborhood of 40 million dollars.
REALLY? 40 million to coach college football? Last time I checked- it’s COLLEGE. Not PROFESSIONAL. This is just ridiculously stupid. These kids play their tails off, sacrifice it all, and the coaches, administration, school, conferences, and NCAA make millions upon millions off of them- while they get sanctioned for…free tattoos.
The NCAA stinks and this is a big reason why. When Coaches are paid 40 million dollars in the NCAA…clearly things are going backwards.
Urban Meyer is a great football coach- there is no if about that. He likely is one of the best coaches in the country, but 40 million dollars? What could that 40 million dollars be used for?
Just an absolute crime- but hey- congrats to Urban Meyer.
