Kansas State Pulls Off Season Sweep Of No. 3 Missouri
The Kansas State Wildcats are looking to make it into the field of 68 come Selection Sunday in March and they helped their cause with their second win against a ranked Missouri team. Kansas State defeated Missouri 78-68.
Rodney McGruder led the Wildcats with 24 points while teammate Thomas Gipson scored 13 points. Kansas State ended up shooting 53 percent from the floor.
Michael Dixon scored 21 points for Missouri and Marcus Denmon had 19 as well.
With the win, Kansas State puts a huge stamp on their tournament resume. Their two wins against the ranked Missouri team and a win against No. 13 Baylor in Waco, Tex. makes them a shoe-in for a spot in the big dance.
However, it maybe that they’re run in the Big 12 tournament could determine their fate. It does seem like Frank Martin’s team does have a head on their shoulders and could make a run in the tournament.
