“Linsanity” has been the by far the biggest story in the NBA this year. The undrafted Harvard grad has captivated millions of fans, garnered tons of media attention, and rejuvenated the Knicks entire season. After being waived by the Houston Rockets before the season the Knicks were eventually able to grab Jeremy Lin, and the rest is history.

Rockets GM Daryl Morey took to Twitter last month saying he regretted waiving Lin:

We should have kept @jlin7.Did not know he was this good.Anyone who says they knew misleading U RT @trane711 Just accept the @jlin7 mistake

As if the constant stream of “Linsanity” news hasn’t been enough of a reminder, Madison Square Garden president Scott O’Neil decided to add some fuel to the fire. At the annual MIT Sloan Sports Conference last week O’Neil presented an autographed Lin jersey to Morey, who will likely donate it to charity, according to business reporter Michelle Steele. The “thank you” gift was yet another stinger to the Rockets GM, who has drawn the ire of fans on Twitter for letting go of the two-year guard. Lin was also cut by the Golden State Warriors last season, and looked over by several other teams in the waiver process before landing in the Big Apple.

The Knicks have gone 9-4 with Lin in the starting lineup after struggling to meet high expectations early in the season. Lin is averaging a ridiculous 21.5 points, 8.9 assists and 2.3 steals in 13 games as a starter this season. The Knicks are 18-19 on the year and are currently in line for the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference. Lin and Co. head to Dallas on Tuesday to face the defending champion Mavericks before heading to San Antonio on a back-to-back.
