Matt Kartozian-US PRESSWIRE

There’s no doubt about the fact that the Chicago Blackhawks‘ first round defeat at the hands of the Phoenix Coyotes was an incredible disappointment. Even more disappointing is how much of the blame goaltender Corey Crawford has had to shoulder. Crawford surrendered overtime goals in Game 3 and Game 4, both coming of an extremely [...]

Steve Mitchell-US PRESSWIRE

Coming into the season, we knew the Chicago Cubs weren’t going to be very good. What was even more evident was that their bullpen is less than stellar. Okay, so it’s a few notches below that even, but Carlos Marmol was expected to rebound and serve as the more reliable arm out of the bullpen. [...]

No comeback this time around. After the near-magic of the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs, some wondered if the Chicago Blackhawks might have saved a little of that for this opening round series against the Phoenix Coyotes. They didn’t. The Coyotes knocked off the Blackhawks in Monday’s Game 6, ending what can easily be considered a [...]

For the Chicago Cubs, the not-surprising-at-all injury news of sending Kerry Wood to the disabled list was followed by much more depressing Ryan Dempster-to-the-DL news. Dempster has been sent to the disabled list with a quad injury, after a very good start to the season. After a poor 2011 campaign, Dempster started off hot in [...]

After months of rampant trade rumors involving Chicago Cubs centerfielder Marlon Byrd, it’s looking like a trade is finally close to being a reality.
