Boston Celtics May Not Have Seen The Last Of Rasheed Wallace

The great game seven of the NBA Finals that was wasted still haunts Rasheed Wallace. He did not want to leave the NBA on that sour note. The injured and banged up Wallace played well for Boston in the playoff run. His back was injured worse than people realize. He got by the final few playoff games on guts and determination. The fact he was effective shows how talented he was. He emptied the tank and the result was the Celtics were almost NBA champions. That is the problem for Rasheed, they did not win.
Rasheed has unfinished business. Wallace will enjoy some time at home with his wife and kids. He is loving life in New England. However, Wallace is a fierce competitor. Rasheed was brought here to win a title. This was not accomplished. He is also mysteriously keeping himself in semi shape. This signals to me the right circumstances could entice Rasheed out of retirement. Should Boston have an injury at the All Star break, look for Rasheed to return. He is the perfect fit if Perkins does not come back. He is also the perfect fit if Shaq or Jermaine fall victim to the injury bug. He knows the offense and defense. He plays with intense passion and would be well rested for a playoff drive. He would be as motivated to avenge the loss in 2010 as anyone else. He is also living right in Boston’s back yard.
Boston Celtic fans do not toss your Rasheed jersey’s just yet. You may find the fiery center wearing green before the season is out. This might not be a bad prospect for Boston.
