Boston Celtics Paul Pierce Records Triple Double To Extend Win Streak To 13 Games

The Boston Celtics are still without star point guard Rajon Rondo. This means that somebody needed to step up and run the offense. Nate Robinson is a nice player, but he is a shooter, not a true facilitator of offense. This is no problem for Boston because Paul Pierce did his best Scottie Pippen impersonation by having the offense run through him at point forward and recording the spectacular triple double. The result was the Celtics continued their rampage through the NBA by beating Indiana 99 to 88 to extend the winning streak to 13 games.
Pierce was clearly the star of this game with his triple double. On top of running the offense and collecting 12 assists, Pierce got dirty in the paint. Pierce would box out perfectly and opportunistically snag 10 rebounds. Of course Pierce also provided his usual scoring duties as well by pacing the team with 18 points on a very efficient 6 of 8 shooting.
Pierce was not the only offensive star for Boston. The Celtics got another great game from Glen Davis. Davis would bury 18 points by doing his usual crashing of the paint. He also showed his smooth 15 foot jumper. Nate Robinson may not run the offense that well, but he can score. Nate would score 18 points including two big threes. Ray Allen would hit for 17 points. Ray did not really have the long range game going, but he is a scorer first. Ray also got himself 6 rebounds and 6 assists to show for his efforts running the offense when Pierce took a breather. Shaq played his first game in a while and looked solid. The big man scored 11 points in just 20 minutes of action. Marquis Daniels had a solid night against his former team. He would hit all four of his field goals on his way to 8 points.
Once again the defense was what won Boston this game. Kevin Garnett was his usual active self. KG would have 3 steals and 9 defensive rebounds. He made life miserable for whomever he was guarding and was a big reason why the Pacers shot only 35 percent from the floor. Danny Granger had 19 points, but he shot 5-20. Paul Pierce was also solid with 4 steals. However, Nate Robinson recorded two blocks, this means your defense played well.
Outside of the 23 turnovers, Doc Rivers should not have much to complain about. The Celtics continue to find a way to win with everyone on the team providing a little more than people thought that they could or would. This team is proving it is all about Banner 18 as they show winning is the only goal and they will do whatever it takes to get that all important win. Remember Go Green Or Go Home!!!!!!!
