Boston Celtics Kevin Garnett Returns To Injury Ravaged Celtics
The Boston Celtics are seriously short handed right now for their matchup tonight with the OKC Thunder. The team is without the services of many key parts with Chris Wilcox, Brandon Bass, and Jermaine O’Neal all injured and Rajon Rondo suspended for one more game. The team is struggling and in serious need of a boost. The boost just may be the return of one Kevin Garnett to the Celtics lineup as Doc Rivers announced today that KG would be available tonight after missing the last two games for a personal matter.
KG may not be the same KG that he was a few years ago, but he is still a guy that makes a major difference on the court for this team. KG is the team’s defensive leader. KG makes the big play with his active hands, shuts down his man, doubles at the right time, and just keeps the guys intense and accountable on the defensive end. Since KG has been out, the team has gotten even worse on the defensive boards allowing way too many offensive rebounds and second chance points. They were bad with KG on the boards, but his seven defensive rebounds a game made them clearly the worst rebounding team. KG’s return will help sure up that serious problem.
The bottom line is the team is on a serious slide. They need a boost. They need someone to come in and start getting the team to play with energy. KG is that guy. I hope that his energy is infectious because they will need it against OKC. Remember Go Green Or Go Home!!!!!!!!!
