According to Matt De Lima of the Dugout Doctors, John Lackey has filed for divorce from his wife Krista. Krista was sticken with breast cancer several months ago, underwent a double mastectomy, as well as chemotherapy.
Yesterday John Lackey went off on the media for getting a text message regarding something personal. It’s probably clear to what that text message was about- and it probably was a little more personal but hey- that’s the media. That’s what they do. When a professional pitcher divorces his wife with cancer- the media wants more about it- and will get it someway…somehow. Anyways- back to the story.
According to this report, Lackey filed for divorce on August 30, according to official documents. Lackey says in the papers, “the marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities.”
Should I even state how questionable this is? I mean hey- divorce is a personal matter. Sometimes things don’t work out the way two people plan. Sometimes this happens. However, it just sounds insanely cold to divorce your wife battling for her life. Conflict in personalities? Yeah that might tend to happen when one spouse has cancer.
