Bryce Harper Set to Make MLB Debut with Washington Nationals Saturday
Brad Barr-US PRESSWIRE

According to sources, Washington Nationals phenom prospect Bryce Harper will make his MLB debut on Saturday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Nationals have placed All-Star third baseman Ryan Zimmerman on the 15-day disabled list and will call up Harper to fill the void.

The official Twitter account of the MLB tweeted such a few moments ago, as did SB Nation:

BREAKING: @Nationals to place Ryan Zimmerman on 15-day DL Saturday & recall Bryce Harper, who will make his @MLB debut at Dodger Stadium.

There has been a great deal of speculation about when Harper would be called up by the Nationals who are off to a scorching start and own one of the best records in the Majors so far during the early 2012 campaign.

Harper’s volatile temper is a risk the Nationals are willing to take given his plus ability in almost every aspect of the game. One has to figure that Bryce Harper’s transition to the pro game will be a work-in-progress and not a trial by fire. Harper is far to valuable to the Nationals to burn out his potential by doing anything but easing him into action as management sees fit.

According to reports, Harper will see his first action against the Dodgers on Saturday in Los Angeles, most likely in right field.

It’s the moment Nationals fans have been waiting for and now it’s upon us.
