Buffalo Bills Get Look at Da’Quan Bowers Today
The 2011 draft’s lost prospect, Clemson defensive end Da’Quan Bowers, will participate in his pro day this afternoon. Bowers is a highly touted player, whose stock has taken a fall of late due to a knee injury.
Fresh off declaring for the draft, Bowers’ name was mentioned on top of the draft board with the likes of Von Miller, Marcell Dareus, and Patrick Peterson as one of the most talented players available. He was mentioned as a potential first overall pick on the very first mock drafts out. However, January arthroscopic knee surgery has played a key role in his stock plummet.
After only participating in the bench press and team interviews at the NFL combine in February, teams will get their first chance to look at Bowers in the defensive line drills at the pro day. This is one of the most anticipated pro days for all NFL teams, and especially the Buffalo Bills, who have a legitimate need for a pass rusher and a good chance to swipe him with the third pick.
There is no doubting the talent that Bowers brings to the table, but the main concern for teams is the health of his right knee. Proving himself healthy on Friday could go a long way towards vaulting his name back to the top of the draft board. And with Dareus and Miller expecting to be the first two players taken in the draft, there is a high possibility Bowers would be available to the Bills at three.
While many Bills fans have their sights set on Newton, Gabbert, Miller, and Dareus, they shouldn’t overlook the possibility of brining one of college football’s best pass rushers to Buffalo. If everything works out tomorrow, as it is supposed to according to everyone in Bowers’ camp, the Bills may be looking at their new defensive end this afternoon.

I agree, Bowers would be a real nice pick up for the Bills. But I like Cam Newton for the third pick, you gave a great argument a couple articles ago for him.
