This article was supposed to be about my feelings on the upcoming Bears season, but wouldn’t you know it but the Bears threw all of us a major curve ball. The Bears brass told all of us that they were not prepared to make a major move in free agency, but they lied. So allow me to give you my two cents on the three new Bears.

Brandon Manumaleuna (TE)

For those who know me very well, I am not a Greg Olsen fan. I think he is what my father would call a “combine player”. Looks great on paper but does not live up to it on the field. Manumaleuna is a bad tush…like our rival Minnesota’s Jim Kleinsasser. He will blow you up on the line of scrimmage and maybe even catch a pass or two. Mike Martz wants this from the tight end position, and he got it. Desmond Clark still serves the Bears well as a number two, but for a change, Jay Cutler will get some sort of blocking out of his tight end, and with this guy, it will be light years ahead of Olsen.
Chester Taylor (RB)

All I can say is ha Minnesota! Not only did the Bears add a great running back to the roster, but weakened the Vikings. This guy is a talented back that will push Matt Forte to want it a little more. Plus, this now means that Adrian  “Fumble” Peterson will now have to carry the ball a few more times. Couldn’t hurt to see him giving the ball away.

Julius Peppers (DE)

The cream of the crop. The best free-agent out there…and he is a new member of the Chicago Bears. Do I even need to say anything else? Mr. Peppers can play. He wanted to be a Bear and wasted little time signing on the dotted line. This was a great move…no one can argue that!

OK, so the Bears have improved. While getting a good safety would have been nice, these three are a start. Jerry Angelo, Ted Phillips and the boys deserve some credit…OK, class dismissed!

I have a love/hate feeling about the moves. Love the names, great players. Partially feel they only spent money to save their jobs for this season and next. Even if the team where to perform poorly this year, they can atleast say they tried and spent money now.

okay so here it is, i have been a bears fan for nobullcrapping 25 years and have never waivered in my undying loyalty or faith in them even when in my heart knowing they wernt going to make the playoffs that year but i still kept hope until the very last possible moment but regardless i have always known where they lacked, and a lot of the bears problems are in their management i mean when you cant run up the middle or smash thru their line you got to mix it up and slash the middle work the flats then start going back to the draw or up the gut smash mouth running but you got to be more adaptable everybody knows the bears want to punish they want to run over their opponents so what do they do they concentrate on stacking the running lanes its not rocket science for them to figure out whos faster to the outside and to situate your defense to accomodate those mismatches and compounding the problem is the franchise’s reluctance to pay the big bucks for better caliber players or they go and trade good freaking players like kyle orton for players like jay cutler who are good or were good but quickly fading so although im anxious and hopeful i justhave to wait until i can see them play in a real season whn it counts game to make my decision about the season

you see i miss those days when seeing payton running through defenses like a phantom , it brings me to tears to see such a beautiful display of raw power speed and finesse or to see the steam rising from the head and nostrils of ole psycho mike singletary as you’re seeing what the qb must be seeing as he looks across the line and see that very big very mad black guy wearing number 50 and having played quarter back you know that big pisst off guy is coming for your ass!you know my bears are very dear to me and im raising my son to know the majestic history of the bears, a big key to the success of the team will be if they can get out of their defensive shock and awe mentality and get their stamina back what ive seen is they demoralize quickly when playing a superior offense and they try and try for knockoutpunch rather then going the distance and as a result they take themselves out of the game and never get back in and as a result carry thatlow morale into their next game and they usually tend to start to have small successes but once they stumble a little bit its all she wrote the bears offense usually tends to shoot itself in the foot and sometimes it seems the defense is ropadoping then hanging themselves in the rope when they cant deliver the knockout thats if their not coming out swinging for the fences so hard their winded in the first qaurter its like going and getting drunk getting in a fight and your goona kill that other person until you swing 3 times so hard you knock yourself out when you fall face first into the ground
