Alex Brown

Let me start of by saying that I had the chance to meet Brown twice. Once at a Bears season ticket holder even and once at a local electronics store. Both times he seemed like a great guy.
Getting that out of the way, he always was a very productive player and a good part of the Bears defense. So the public outcry over his release has been something. Bears fans are upset. And based on his contributions to the team, it is hard to blame everyone.
But let’s be realistic for a second. He is on the wrong side of 30, his production has been decreasing steadily, and the Bears brought in a top defensive end. So all of these things contribute to the Bears parting ways with Brown. Do I agree with this? I will answer this after week 3 of the season. Mark Anderson, the young man that had previously replaced Brown and failed gets the opportunity for a second time. Does this make me happy? Not really…Since his rookie campaign, Anderson has been a very forgettable part of the team.
So I guess I am not really giving anyone a straight answer here on my thoughts…honestly, I really am indifferent towards this whole situation. But my friends, this can change quickly if the Bears are right or wrong.
