According to Michael Lombardi, the Bears could sign quarterback Jason Campbell soon. Lombardi says “expect Jason Campbell to visit the Bears soon-they are working on a deal”. Campbell will come in and be the back-up to Jay Cutler. Does that mean Josh McCown won’t be back? There has been nothing on him, but I would have to say he won’t be back. McCown is a free agent.

Coming out of college, Campbell had high hopes as he was drafted in the 1st round of the 2005 draft by the Washington Redskins. But it didn’t go as plan and his career has faded off. Campbell, still only 30 has dealt with injuries is his career. Most notably in 2011 where he only played 6 games. That was with the Oakland Raiders … in 2011, Campbell threw for 1170 yards on 10 completions. Also, he threw 6 touchdowns to 4 interceptions.

I’m not oppose to a Campbell signing and think he’ll be an awesome back-up, especially compare to Caleb Hanie. It looks like a deal will get done.
