Head coaching vacancy still unfilled

The Chicago Bulls may have won the draft lottery, and will be able to select the best college athlete available, but they still do not have a coach to run the team. The draft pick may help lure some coaches into the position.

After missing out on former Suns coach Mike D’antoni and not being interested in Mavs former coach Avery Johnson, the list of coaches with NBA experience is pretty short which has the Bulls turning to other options. Two former NBA players are scheduled to be interviewed by the Bulls, former Utah Jazz player Jeff Hornacek and Eric Snow, former point guard for the Sixers and Cavs.

Hornacek played 14 seasons in the NBA and is currently a part-time assistant coach for the Jazz. He believes he would be a good coach because he says “he did not succeed in the NBA because of athletic ability but because he knows the game.”

Other reported candidates in Chicago include ex-Minnesota coach Dwane Casey, Sacramento assistant Chuck Person, Denver assistant Mike Dunlap, Lakers assistants Kurt Rambis and Brian Shaw, Boston assistant Tom Thibodeau, and Detroit assistant Michael Curry.
