Chicago Bulls vs. Washington Wizards Preview
Can the Bulls make it 12 straight wins at home tonight against the Wizards? I think so.
To me, this game shouldn’t be close. Washington has lost it’s last four games and is a dismal 1 – 29 on the road this season. Put that up against the Bulls who are playing some of their best basketball, and are in the midst of their longest home winning streak since 1997, the last time they won the NBA championship.
I expect the offense to take care of the ball and a much better job by the defense than the 100 points they surrendered to Jazz.
This game comes at a great time because the Bulls really shouldn’t need an ailing Carlos Boozer, let him rest and let Derrick Rose, and the rest of the squad take over. Tom Thibodeau said Boozer should return sometime this week. I say why rush, you don’t really need him to take care of business tonight.
The only chance I see the Wizards having tonight is playing some sort of a box and one defense or a double team to try to shut down Rose, but if they do that, Kyle Korver, Loul Deng, Joakim Noah, the list goes on, will all be open and Rose will get them the ball with ease.
One thing I will be interested in is a certain problem I’ve had with the Bulls all year, playing to their competition. While they’ve only lost 18 games this year, how many of those should have been wins. Now I understand you have off nights, but if they want to hoist that trophy at the end of the year, they are going to have to figure out, even on off nights how to win. Also we get to see an upcoming star in John Wall who I always enjoy watching.
I don’t any of that will be a problem tonight, but just something to keep in mind.
Prediction: Bulls 114, Wizards 87. Rose with 15 assists.
