Manny Ramirez To Boston: I’m Sorry, And Manny Got A Haircut
After today’s game with Boston was postponed and Manny Ramirez was done hitting in the cage, he showed another side of Manny that hasn’t been seen all that often: apologetic and responsible Manny.
When talked to by reporters, Manny came clean and said that everything between him and the Red Sox organization was his fault and that is the reason why he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
This is what Manny had to say on the whole situation:
“I think everything was my fault,” Ramirez said. “But, hey, you’ve got to be a real man to realize when you do wrong. Hey, it was my fault. I’m already past that stage and I’m happy with my new team.”
Even in regards to the fight that he got into with Kevin Youkilis, he said that was also his fault but he apologized to him and was a man and took the blame for it.
“When I went to first base and saw Youkilis, I said, ‘Hey, what happened between you and me, I’m sorry. That’s my fault.’ So it takes a real man just to go and tell a person it was my fault. That’s what I did.”
Manny went on to say that he has put that all in the past and has moved on. He wouldn’t speak about his trip back to Boston earlier in the season but did admit that he enjoyed himself and the reaction he got from the players and fans. He even went as far to say that if the reports that Boston claimed him were true and if there was the option of him coming back to Boston, he didn’t see any reason why he wouldn’t have come back to try and help them out.
Along with Manny opening up and speaking his mind, he also decided to get a haircut today. Everyone was reporting constantly about his barber being flown up to Boston and whether he will cut most of it off, all of it off, or if it was just a ploy.
In the end, it ended up with another case of “Manny being Manny”. I say this because he got all of this attention geared towards him with flying the barber and everything and after the haircut was done, Manny got a total of 99 millimeters trimmed off the dreads. Yes, you read that right, millimeters.
Personally, I love the idea of Manny being here because he is making this pennant race a lot more interesting than it would have been. Though I wish I could see Jerry Reinsdorf’s face when he hears how much Manny got cut off.
