Gordon Beckham Scratched From Tuesday’s Game Against Tigers

Gordon Beckham was a late scratch from Tuesday’s game against the Tigers due to pain in his hand.

Beckham was hit on his right hand by a pitch on August 30 by Indians reliever Frank Herrmann but returned to the lineup after missing a couple games.

Prior to tonight’s game Beckham said that the pain was the worst he has felt since getting hit and that he couldn’t even pick up a bat, let alone hold it.

This looks like it could be a problem since the pain reappeared randomly and hurts worse than it did when he first got hit. Hopefully this won’t require any time on the DL but anything is possible at this point.
