NFL Free Agency: Would Cleveland Welcome Back Braylon Edwards?
With NFL Free Agency in full swing, rumors are surfacing all over the country about the intentions of NFL franchises and players. Braylon Edwards has been a hot topic of discussion now that the New York Jets have re-signed Santonio Holmes to a long term deal.
Edwards is likely the hottest commodity left in the free agent market and the Cleveland Browns are actively looking for a wide receiver. However, Edwards and the Browns had a very ugly fallout two years ago as nasty remarks from the organization and constant heckling from the fan base caused the former Michigan Wolverine to skip town for New York.
Now that Cleveland is under new management, one would have to wonder if Edwards would be willing to return to Cleveland. One would also wonder if the Browns fans would welcome him back.
One of the biggest knocks against Edwards during his time with the Browns was his “lack of effort” and his tendency to drop passes. Edwards’ catching ability has not improved over his time with New York but he is still one of the most productive Browns receivers since the teams’ return in 1999.
Throughout his career with the Browns, Edwards caught 28 touchdown passes and surpassed the 1,000 receiving mark on 1 occasion.

You are a fool. This city will never welcome him back even though he sent 100 kids to college on his dime and consistently gives to local charities.
People didn’t like him from the start b/c he went to Michigan and didn’t like the Hang on Sloopy in the stadium…
Further evidence you don’t know what you’re talking about…He had 2 drops last season and very few the season before. How is that not improving his catching ability? If he signed here, he’d instantly be the #1 and the big target Mccoy needs to get his career started…
