During the (4-6) Cleveland Browns 14-10 win over the (3-7) Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland’s once-dormant offense seemingly came back to life against the lowly Jaguars.

Cleveland would give quarterback Colt McCoy time to find open wide receivers—most notably wideout Jordan Norwood on a 51-yard reception—would set up running back Chris Ogbonnaya’s one-yard touchdown run.

Cleveland—and fantasy football owners—may have discovered something in Ogbonnaya.

The 6’0, 225-pound Ogbonnaya, a former practice squad player of the Houston Texans, would become the first Browns running back since Peyton Hillis to rush 100 yards in a game for Cleveland.

Ogbonnaya would rush for 115 yards on 21 carries against the the Jaguar’s 15th ranked run defense.

The 25-year old second-year back out of Texas appears to have developed a real chemistry with former Texas Longhorn teammate—and current Browns starting quarterback Colt McCoy—Ogbonnaya appears to fit a dire need for a pass-catching running back out of the backfield and also looks to be a good fit in Cleveland’s new West Coast offense.

Since taking over for running back Montario Hardesty, Ogbonnaya leads the Browns in rushing with 285 yards on 67 carries and one touchdown.  Ogbonnaya is also fourth on the team in receiving with 15 catches for 118 yards.

While Ogbonnaya’s dual-threat potential may give the Browns a spark on offense, Cleveland’s remaining schedule may make fans—and fantasy football owners—curb their enthusiasm.

With the exception of a Week 14 match-up against the 24th ranked Arizona Cardinals run defense, Ogbonnaya will face top-ranked run defenses in (6-4) Cincinnati and AFC North heavyweights in defending AFC champion (7-3) Pittsburgh and (7-3) Baltimore twice in the next five games.

With starting running backs Hillis and Hardesty still out for the un-foreseeable future, Ogbonnaya may appear to have solidified himself as the Browns feature back for the rest of 2011—only by default—and with the Brown’s upcoming brutal schedule, Ogbonnaya’s promising performance against Jacksonville may make him a more of a one-hit wonder.
