We’ve seen a lot of weird things take place during the NBA lockout. Ron Artest changed his name, Delonte West applied for a job at Home Depot, and LeBron got dunked on by a kid from Taiwan. However, I think a basketball player moonlighting as a MLB groundskeeper takes the cake.
ProBasketballTalk reports that Chicago Bulls forward Kyle Korver spent a day working as a groundskeeper at Wrigley Field for a Cubs-Astros game. His work was done in order to raise money for his charity, Seer Outfitters. If you haven’t heard of Seer, you should check their stuff out. Korver has done a bunch of things to help underprivileged children and this was just his latest attempt to raise money.
Korver also spent some of the day serving ice cream. Maybe for his next adventure he could spend a day working at Chicago-area restaurants to raise money. I sure wouldn’t mind having Korver serve me a deep-dish pizza and I’m sure the public wouldn’t either.
