What a night it was to be a Tampa Bay Rays fan?!? To beat the New York Yankees after trailing 7-0 entering the bottom of the eighth inning. The Rays scored six in the eighth and one in the ninth to tie the game. The Boston Red Sox endured Papelbon’s ninth inning meltdown and lost 4-3…Just three minutes later Evan Longoria struck for his second home run of the game in the 12th inning for the walk-off win that ended the Red Sox season, and beat the Yankees 8-7 Wednesday night from Florida. These games have set the tone for the 2011 postseason. The Rays roll into the playoffs as the hottest team on the planet. Always watch out for those wild card teams. It’s all about who gets hot at the right time of the season…and right now, the Rays are scorching.
