Words can’t describe the intensity level from an emotional standpoint during Saturday’s game between Penn State and Nebraska after the firing of Joe Paterno this past week due to the sexual abuse allegations from former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky. From the pre-game prayer circle to the standing ovation from the crowd at the end of the game, emotions were high throughout the afternoon, but nothing may compare to the message from Jay Paterno–the team’s quarterbacks coach–to his father after the game.

The video above shows Jay being interviewed by ESPN after the game and discussed the challenges his players had to overcome after everything they’ve gone through over the last couple of days. Jay was fighting tears back the entire time and ended the interview by saying, “Dad I wish you were here…We love you” before walking away.

After trailing 17-0, the Nittany Lions comeback against the Cornhuskers fell just short as they went on to lose 17-14. Thanks to Bleacher Report for the video above and be sure to keep the victims and their families in your prayers during this difficult time.
