How popular is Deron Williams overseas? Well- he was only with Besiktas for 15 games, and they retired his number. I repeat, he was only with Besiktas for 15 games and they retired his number.
I mean- he was tearing it up and recently had a 50 point performance but is Turkey basketball that starved for awesome basketball players that they have to retire the number of a very good NBA point guard after 15 games? I mean congrats to D-Will and all that jazz, but 15 games? Really?
It is a pretty cool video/ceremony so I have to give Besiktas some sort of credit for throwing a cool light show and party for their fan base.
