Video: Florida’s Patric Young With the Rip Away Block
Florida State traveled to Florida Thursday night for an interstate matchup. Florida was clinging to a six point lead when Patric Young had one of the plays of the year. A Florida State player went in for the layup when Young skied in the air and ripped the ball out of the air with his left hand.
Young later finished the play by dunking the ball on the other end. Not a bad series of plays by the uber-athletic forward.
It is one of the best blocks I’ve ever seen. Massive blocks that send the ball out of bounds are cool and all, but they don’t set anything up. A block like this actually starts a fast break, which lead to points.
