Video: Danica Patrick’s Gatorade Duel Crash

Welcome to NASCAR, Danica. In Thursday’s first Gatorade Duel, Danica Patrick was attempting to make a move on the final lap when she got bumped out of line. Patrick lost control and hit the inside wall extremely hard. Patrick was shaken up, but she wasn’t hurt.
Crashes like that make the SAFER barrier look like a godsend. Without it, Patrick could be seriously hurt. She also had the wherewithal to let go of the steering wheel in order to avoid a broken wrist.
Danica will still be racing in the Daytona 500 on Sunday and hopefully she avoids another wreck.
