Video: Philadelphia Union Friendly Called Off After Brawl With Costa Rican Team

By Riley Schmitt

Do you want to make your own Philadelphia joke or should I?  I’ll leave it to you.  The Philadelphia Union, a MLS team, was in Costa Rica for some warmup friendlies before the season started.  They were playing AD Belen and found themselves down 2-0 with about half of the first half remaining.

A potentially dangerous tackle from Philly’s Michael Farfan ignited a brawl involving punching, kicking, and soccer ball throwing.

Not exactly a good way to act as a guest in a country.  At least they’re passionate about the game.
