Video: Wes Welker, Clay Matthews, and DeMarcus Ware Star in a "Depends" Commercial

By Bryan Lutz

Don’t double take at that title, it is accurate. New England Patriots’ wide receiver Wes Welker, Green Bay Packers’ linebacker Clay Matthews, and Dallas Cowboys’ linebacker DeMarcus Ware are in a commercial for diapers. However, it is for charity, the Jimmy V Foundation in fact, but that doesn’t make it any less comical.

First of all, I didn’t even know there was diapers for everyday folks, but after seeing the commercial I feel really dumb for thinking that. I thought it was just for kids and the elderly,. I guess you really do learn something everyday. It also makes me wonder if NFL players actually do wear diapers on the field. I doubt it, but hey, it wouldn’t surprise me after seeing this.

I’m glad the diapers fit Wes Welker well. I’m sure he had a little accident of sorts after dropping the ball in the Super Bowl.

If you are still confused how this is connected to the Jimmy V foundation, you can look at the extended edition below, which I recommend you do, because it makes a lot more sense. They are doing this to create awareness for prostrate cancer, making the diapers thing a lot more understandable.

Bravo to these guys for doing this. It certainly is embarrassing, but the spot is effective. Way to make diapers look cool , fellas.
