Jim Irsay’s Mad Tweets Continue
After posting a comment on Twitter earlier this week, concerning a three-hour meeting with Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts owner, Jim Irsay, recently posted a tweet about another quarterback draft prospect. Irsay’s tweet seems to try and influence other NFL teams to trade up and take quarterback Ryan Tannehill early in the first round of this month’s NFL Draft.
‘Tannehill is a hidden gem in this draft,a quiet secret who was always sneaking up to #3..you want him,you better talk to Zigi The Biggie’
The third overall pick in the first round of the draft currently belongs to the Minnesota Vikings. The aforementioned quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, is not projected to even be a first round pick in the Rant Sports 2012 NFL Mock Draft, much less a top five draft choice.
Perhaps Irsay just likes to stir the pot. Perhaps the “Mad Tweeter” just wants to deflect a bit of attention away from his own teams’s number one overall pick in the draft. Still, if Irsay feels so good about Tannehill, maybe he should just jump the shark, shock the world, and draft the quarterback before anyone else gets to him first.
Irsay has quickly become one of the most well-known owners in the NFL. For the better part of the last decade, the Indianapolis Colts franchise has been well known for being tight-knit and tight-lipped. Maybe with the entire “reload” process going on in Indianapolis, Irsay is also attempting to usher in a new era of pomp and circumstance. One way or another, it’s been an interesting ride so far.
