Video: New ESPN Michael Jordan Commercial
ESPN always has a way of making entertaining and funny commercials. Well, they have added to it once again with there recent commercial about Michael Jordan.
In the video above, an everyday average joe has something quite special about him, his name. Meet Michael Jordan, a balding white guy with glasses. That is not quite who we all think of when we hear Michael Jordan. That, is exactly what the commercial is about.
ESPN put this underneath their youtube video:
“Have you ever wondered what it would be like to share a name with a superstar? Here, we follow an ordinary man who has been saddled with a legendary name. It’s not crazy, it’s sports.”
I can agree, it wouldn’t be to much fun having the same name as someone of that caliber. I feel like I would always be a let down. But, honestly, who wants to see me when I say my name is Michael Jordan. NOBODY!
If somebody named Derek Jeter or LeBron James or Mariano Rivera or Barack Obama walked up and they weren’t who you immediately thought of, you would not be thrilled. It would be quite a bummer in fact.
I am wondering how many of you out there have run into this situation, where you met somebody who you thought was somebody else, or, if you are the guy causing the name mix up.
