While the nation was fawning over Chicago White Sox pitcher Philip Humber’s perfect game, Andrea Chiaradio went under the radar. The pitcher for Stonington High in Connecticut threw the most perfect game that you could ever throw. Chiaradio threw a 21 strikeout perfect game as Stonington took out Norwich Free Academy.
This is one of the most impressive feats that I have heard of. If you have a good pitcher, you are going to do well in softball. That is just how it works. If you have someone like Chiaradio, you are going to dominate most of the times she takes the mound. I watched a lot of high school softball in my day and never saw anyone come close to something this amazing.
According to the report, the last out was the most intense.
“We threw a lot of drop curves and rise balls,” Chiaradio told the Day. “I was trying not to think about (a perfect game). I was just focused on getting the outs.
“The last hitter fouled off a few balls, so I was nervous, but I threw her an outside fastball.”
Chiaradio also never pitched on the varsity level until this season. This perfect game is just incredible. Something tells me that she will be playing at the next level. If you can get your hands on a pitcher like this, you have to do it. Not everyone can say they threw the most perfect game of all time. 21 K’s, 21 outs, and no baserunners. That is all you need to know.
