Maciah Thomas is a high school sophomore and parkour enthusiast, who also happens to be very good at nailing trick basketball shots.
For those of you that do not know what parkour is, it is defined as the sport of moving along a route, typically in a city, trying to get around or through various obstacles in the quickest and most efficient manner possible, as by jumping, climbing, or running.
It is important to know what parkour is, considering Thomas uses a form of it in his amazing backyard front flip basketball shot. He runs across a row of concrete slabs and does a front flip off the ledge while also heaving the basketball high in the air towards the basket. Yeah, that’s right; Thomas just converted a 40-foot shot while somersaulting through the air.
I wish his friend would have reacted better by freaking out instead of calmly asking, “Are you serious?” I would understand if he was in a state of shock that his friend just nailed one of the most amazing backyard trick plays ever. However, it seems like he almost knew it was going to happen.
The best part is how Thomas acts cool as if he has performed the trick shot a thousand times before, and from the look of it he probably has. Everything was planned and performed with precision. Not to mention, it was dangerous as Thomas could have gotten severely hurt if he timed his jump wrong.
There is no doubt this video has the right ingredients to be a perfect viral video. No wonder SportsCenter made it the No. 1 play in Tuesday’s Top 10. Thomas is basking in the glory of being the best at something for one day. All he has to do now is make a second viral video showing off some amazing parkour skills.
