Video: Derrick Rose Injures Knee Against 76ers
Dennis Wierzbicki-US PRESSWIRE

In what could be a major blow to the Chicago Bulls, star point guard Derrick Rose went down late with a knee injury Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers.

At this point it’s unknown what the extent of the knee injury is, but it didn’t look good on video. The user who posted this video on YouTube title it as “Derrick Rose Tears His ACL vs 76ers.” This diagnoses, has been in no way confirmed by the Bulls.

The play was just typical Derrick Rose to me. His was driving the lane, and went to do a jump stop, only this time his knee gave out. People are going to point their fingers at Coach Tom Thibodeau, for having Rose still in the game, but it’s the playoffs. I don’t think this one is on Thibbs.

The video suggests that Rose’s knee just gave out, and if that’s the case, it was going to happen soon anyway. It was a non-contact play.

76ers coach Doug Collins made the following comment on the potential injury,

“I hope he’s not seriously hurt,” 76ers coach Doug Collins said. “I admire him so much. I think he’s one of the young, bright lights in this NBA. And I hope he’s going to be back and he’s going to be able to play, because I admire greatness, and he’s a great player.”

As a basketball fan, I hope it’s only a sprain.

Bulls’ fans have to hope that if it is a sprain, that Rose will only be out for the rest of the series, or their chances of winning a title, may have just ended.
