Throughout the course of the NHL Playoffs, and especially so far in the Stanley Cup, fans of hockey’s newest sensation, the Los Angeles Kings have shown creativity and originality.
Last evening was another example of why these fans have pushed their team to a commanding 3-0 lead in the Finals, and a likely 2012 Stanley Cup win.
A group of glass-level Kings fans used life-size cutouts of the Jersey Shore cast as a way to taunt the New Jersey Devils directly behind their bench.
Here’s what it looked like:

This “big head” fad has been popularized over the past few months at several sporting events and was given it’s momentum by Jack Blankenship, who began showing up at basketball games around the country this past fall with a life-size cutout of his crazy faces used to distract opposing players while on the free-throw line:

It’s a funny trend that I’m sure is as annoying as hell for the players subjected to it. I mean, sure, you can try and ignore a huge staring face– or a life-size cutout of Snooki– but in the end, I imagine resistance is futile.
Kudos to the this group of Los Angeles Kings fans for finding yet another way to get under the skin of the New Jersey Devils, and help their team finish it’s unlikely run from the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference to a Stanley Cup title.
