Irish Betting Site Paddy Power Returns Money That Was Bet On Manny Pacquiao

Not many people believe that the Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley fight was a fair one.  In fact, a lot of gamblers feel screwed over by the decision.  In a brilliant PR move, the Irish betting site Paddy Power is returning money to those who bet on Pacquiao.

Last night in Las Vegas the brilliant Filipino Manny Pacquiao lost his WBO welterweight belt to Timothy Bradley in a controversial split-decision defeat.

With that Paddy Power has rolled out one of our famous Justice Payouts. If you had placed a bet on Manny to win in a pre-fight outright or on points, that money is now back in your account. We Hear You!

Who would have ever guessed an online betting site would be the fairest thing involved in that fixed fight?  Notice how I keep saying fixed, although it is unconfirmed.  You will not find many people who think that Bradley won that.  It was dubious at best and downright fixed at its worst.

From Bob Arum to the judges, all of this seemed shady.  It is great to see Paddy Power is hearing the complaints and doing the right thing.  It may not be the best thing for the business in the short term, but this may attract more people to their site in the future.  If sites are going to do things like this, they will certainly attract more bettors.

A lot of people believe that the fight resembled more of a WWE bout than a boxing match.  I can’t blame them.  Where there is smoke, there is fire.  There is a lot of smoke around this fight.
