Illinois Coach Tim Beckman Butchers “Take Me Out To The Ball Game”

Tim Beckman is hoping to become a great coach at Illinois, but he should never be allowed back to a Chicago Cubs game to sing “Take Me Out To The Ball Game.”  Let’s just say the guy does not have the world’s greatest singing voice.

Tim Beckman is not the first person to butcher this song and he probably will not be the last.  It is starting to look like the Cubs need to screen the people that they let sing.  It is nice to have some of the bigger names sing the song, but if they can not sing, it ends up something like this.

Hopefully this is not an omen for the upcoming Illinois football season.  They will probably be bad, but hopefully they will not be this bad.  This version of the song might be the worst one of the season and that is saying something.  There have been some bad versions, but it sounded like Beckman could barely get the words out.

It is a fun thing to have people do, but I hope the Cubs are making a list of guys that they will not invite back.  Tim Beckhman can go on that list, along with about four other people that sang this year.  If you are invited to sing, just practice up a little bit.  It would probably not hurt and it would avoid situations like this.

It’s been a long season for the Cubs and it gets worse when you have to listen to this.
