LeBron James Records Triple Double In Team USA Win Over Australia

By Riley Schmitt

LeBron James is clearly the best player in basketball right now and the 2012 Summer Olympics are simply a tool for him to prove that.  Team USA smacked down Australia on Tuesday and James recorded a triple double in the game without putting up too much effort.

For a time, it looked like the Aussies might be able to take down LeBron James and company.  They had cut it to a one possession game in the third until three things happened.  Kevin Love started dominating the glass, Kobe Bryant apparently found the fountain of youth and LeBron turned the game into a giant chess match.

LeBron will always have his doubters but he can see the game like nobody else can right now.  He is always one or two steps ahead of everyone else.  He is making plays that many players can only dream of making.  If it was not for him, the team would be in some trouble.  He is the ultimate leader and he controls the game with his play every time he has the play.

Team USA will need LeBron to keep up this level of play as they will take on Argentina on Friday.  Argentina is the only team to take out the Americans twice since they started sending pros to competitions.  It is going to be a good game and it will be a tightly contested affair.  The Americans will have their work cut out for them and they have to fire on all cylinders.

If LeBron keeps this level of play up, Team USA is bring home the gold medal.  He will always have his haters and his doubters but his play should speak for itself.  If you can find a player right now who can do what he does night in and night out, bring him to the forefront.
